Anzère is situated in the Valais Canton in Switzerland on a magnificent plateau at an altitude of 1500m. It is 15km away from Sion, the capital of the Valais, and not far from the ski resort of Crans-Montana. It faces south, so is very sunny and also has a great snow potential. The panorama of mountains between the Mont Blanc and the Monte Rosa is breathtaking with magnificent views from the resort itself of a dozen or so 4,000m giants, including the Weisshorn, and one can also see right down to the floor of the Rhône valley with its vineyards.

The centre of the village is unique ; a pedestrian zone surrounded by big wooden chalets where you will find a variety of shops and boutiques, restaurants and pavement cafés as well as a children’s playground . Beyond the village square there are other leisure facilities such as a sauna, physiotherapy centre and an indoor swimming pool near the bottom of the cable car.

‘After-ski ‘ activities include 3 discos, a variety of bars, billiards, an amusement area and a weekly entertainment programme. During your stay you can sample local Valais specialities such as raclette, fondue, roesti, air-dried meat and wines of the region. There is, of course, a choice of restaurants offering international food as well as pancakes, pizzas, paella, etc …

The ski area lies between 1500m and 2400m at the foot of the Wildhorn (3,250m) and Sex Rouge (2,885m) and is accessible by a modern 8-seater cable car. Every skier, from beginner to advanced, will find slopes to suit his/her ability from the 40 kms of well prepared ski runs. Skiers also appreciate the changing views over the mountains and down to the Rhône valley below.

There is a vast powder skiing area, a snowpark, 3 mountain restaurants along with free picnic areas and barbecue possibilities on the slopes. In addition there are well signposted mountain footpaths, cross-country skiing, sledging and snow shoe trails. Paragliding, guided high-mountain excursions, helicopter skiing and other sporting activities, such as airboarding and guided snow shoe outings, provide great opportunities to discover this beautiful area. Other special activities can be arranged in the resort for non-skiers and children during the day.
